Use of Remote Control Tools from Server Configuration Manager 2012
Most Administrators are using RDP services for Remote login to the computer inside enterprise. In big companies it’s hard to control computers and servers without using app like Microsoft System Configuration Manager, and one of the feature is remote control.
Why using Remote Control Tool rather then RDP? Because you can see what’s on users desktop and user can show you the problem is having or vice versa you can show how users have to do.
Helpdesk can use Remote Control Tool 2 ways: through installed Admin Console or through standalone remote app (no installation, so can also be used via a USB stick).
Standalone Remote Control Tool ConfigMgr 2012
1. go to the folder wher is Admin Console
( c:\Program Files\Microsoft configuration Manager\AdminConsole\bin\i386 )
2. copy folder 00000409 (with file CmRcViewerRes.dll) and files CmRcViewer and RdpCoreSccm.dll from c:\Program Files\Microsoft configuration Manager\AdminConsole\bin
3. run CmRcViewer.exe and type in computers name or IP to which you would like to connect to (of course PC must have active sccm Agent)
If you must audit who and when use remote tool, then you have to know that using standalone Remote Control Tool write log file on conntected PC and using Remote Controle through Configuration Manager Server you have log file on one place on server.
Spot on with this write-up, I absolutely believe this website needs far more attention.
I’ll probably be back again to read through more, thanks for the advice!
